Evan M. Berger, MD, MS is an ophthalmologist specializing in Vitreoretinal Surgery addressing conditions that include macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, and retinal detachments. He received his undergraduate degree in Cognitive Science from the University of Virginia. Dr. Berger attended Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) where he also completed his internship and residency in Ophthalmology. He completed his fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at West Virginia University Eye Institute. Dr. Berger, a fourth-generation physician, was born and raised in Virginia Beach. He and his wife Dr. Katherine Berger, a pediatrician, enjoy raising their two daughters in the Hampton Roads area.
Dr. Berger is actively involved in the community, volunteering his time at the Lions Eye Clinic offering free eye care and expert subspecialty treatments to reduce blindness in the Hampton Roads community.
